A Wright Christmas & More

"Recording A Wright Christmas is one of my favorite musical experiences," explains Wright. "Instead of looking for a 'hit,' I got to record some of my favorite Christmas songs. We approached this project the same way. We added the classic 'Silver Bells,' but I also fulfilled a dream of mine by writing my own 'new favorite' Christmas songs with my friends Jeannie Seely, Victoria Shaw, Patricia Conroy, and Bob Funk, which has added more great memories for me. We had so much fun writing these songs, and getting back into the studio with my friend and producer Bob Funk is always something I look forward to."

Milestone

I’m so happy to have this new album Milestone out. We are definitely celebrating a milestone. 2022 is the 30th Anniversary of the release of “Take It Like A Man” from my Now & Then album. Ironically, that album’s title describes what it is that we are celebrating with this new music. We are celebrating the new music I’m making now and celebrating the music that started it all back then.

Strong

I created this record with a group of friends that I admire as writers, singers, and producers. We had a lot of fun. The songs are a collection of my observations about life and the people around me and how we're all just stumbling through it. At times there is laughter and joy; at other times, pain and disappointment. Overall, I hope this record is inspiring and relatable to my fans.

The Wright Songs - An Acoustic Evening with Michelle Wright

One of the best experiences of my career was recording my first live cd. We did about thirty shows, recorded seven, and from those seven put this live cd together. Many of the hits are on here as well as a few of my favorite album cuts. I’m really proud of this cd.

Do Right By Me

This is a reissue of my first album I released in 1987. I was singing at a festival in Canada in the 12 noon to 1 o’clock slot which is the typical spot for a new artist, when unbeknownst to me Rick Giles an up-and-coming songwriter/ producer had just arrived backstage and heard me sing the last song of my set. He thought that I had an interesting sounding voice and introduced himself to me. He along with his partner Steve Bogard brought me to Nashville and started writing songs for me and produced this album. This album ultimately got me my record deal with Arista Nashville.

Everything And More

I recorded this cd with Tony Hazeldon and Russ Zavitson. Tony wrote “Take It Like A Man” and Russ at the time was a song plugger for Mill House Music, the publisher of “Take It Like A Man”. It was just fun to get into the studio and work with these two guys. They have been so much a party of Country music here in Nashville, from Tony Hazeldon writing hits for George Straight to Russ Zavitson believing so strongly that “Achey Breaky Heart” was a smash hit that he didn’t give up on pitching it and the rest is history.

Shut Up & Kiss Me

I had the best time making this cd and it also includes eight of my original songs. I took quite a journey in making this one. I wrote in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, Vancouver and Toronto and recorded in New York and Nashville. I wasn’t thinking about formats, I just wanted to write and record the best songs I could at the time. I really love this cd.

For Me It’s You

I was in a great place when I recorded this cd. It has a great vibe with a little sense of humor. This cd also has one of my first original songs recorded with Arista records. It’s called “What Love Looks Like.”

The Reasons Why

This was a really difficult record for me to make. I had just won “Top New Artist Of The Year” and we really needed to cut some hits so there was a lot of pressure and I had just broken up with my boyfriend of seven years so I was in a sad place. On one hand I was the ‘Top New Artist Of The Year” and on the other hand, I had just broken someones heart along with my own. That makes for great song writing. The good news is that the hits ‘Safe In The Arms Of Love” and “One Good Man” are on this cd.

Now & Then

This is the CD that broke my career internationally with hits like “Take it Like A Man” and “He Would Be Sixteen.” When we were recording “Take It Like A Man” I remember the drummer, Lonnie Wilson coming into the control room and saying “If that is not a hit I’m selling shoes for a living.” I’m so glad he was right and doesn’t have to sell shoes and I get to sing this song at every show. Love it.

Michelle Wright

This was my first Album on a major label, Arista Nashville. It was a very exciting time indeed. I was raised in a small farming community in Canada called Merlin. Ontario. Population 500. I’d played the clubs 6 nights a week for about 10 years dreaming the dream and now here I was, one of the first artists signed to Arista Nashville along with Alan Jackson and Leroy Parnell. When I listen to this record it makes me smile when I think back on the journey I took to get to this moment.
