About Michelle Wright
After a successful touring and recording career in her native Canada, Arista/Nashville signed Michelle Wright, making her one of the newly launched label’s flagship artists and introducing her to the U.S. and the world. Her 1990 self-titled album produced her first Top 30 single, and her second Arista/Nashville release, Now & Then, produced six singles, including the song that changed everything, “Take It Like A Man.” The song catapulted Michelle to superstardom, receiving twelve music industry awards, including the 1993 Canadian Country Music Association's Fans' Choice Entertainer of The Year Award and double platinum honors for Now & Then.
In the following years, Michelle Wright garnered more than forty major awards in the US and Canada, including 16 CCMA Awards and her 2011 induction into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. Her thirteen album releases have sold millions of copies and produced twenty‐five Top Ten radio hits. She has performed for audiences across the globe in live concert settings and on television.
In 2021, Wright and producer Bob Funk returned to the studio to record Milestone. BFD/Audium Nashville released the project on the 2022 anniversary date of Now & Then. Milestone included nine new songs and a new recording of “Take It Like A Man,” which saw the musicians from the original recording return to the studio to rerecord the song.
